Project Overview

For this project, I created an environmental animation featuring a TTC street sign. The Motion Design Project involves creating an animated street sign, showcasing dynamic graphics and motion techniques to enhance visual appeal and convey clear information. This project blends design principles with animation skills to produce an engaging and functional visual experience.

Process

The process involved multiple stages to ensure a high-quality final product: I started by recording the TTC street sign, carefully selecting the optimal angle and lighting conditions to capture the sign clearly. This provided a solid foundation to apply the desired effects in post-production, ensuring the animation was both visually appealing and accurately represented the original street sign.

Creative process

Then, I refined the video by stabilizing it and applying a zoom effect to enhance the focal point. I sourced various assets suitable for the animation, integrating them seamlessly using After Effects by illustrating the bus and the subway. Finally, utilizing advanced mask techniques and precise camera tracking, ensuring the animation stayed consistent with the original video frame.

For this project, these were the illustrations used I recreate the subway from the TTC in a minilistic way as well as the bus to match the illustration. So, first the us come from the left side and the subway come from the right side, passing though the path of the wings representative of the logo of the TTC.

With the video stabilize and the illustration assets, I was ready to apply the animation. I made some camera tracking and a zoom effect to succesfully achieve the animation that I had in mind.

Final Touches

I colored the video and I set the format and sizing of the video, in vertical.
